August Action (Updated 08/17/09)
August is action month! Create and submit a new game in the action genre and you could win a prize! We're going to make it easy for our first month by having few requirements, but following months may require specific dialog, story or other requirements to help make sure that no one is cheating.
Note: This was updated on August 17th, 2009 to reflect some changes discussed in this announcement.
Rules:
- Game design and development must start no sooner than 12:00AM, August 1st and may be submitted no later than 11:59PM, August 31st.
- User ratings for the submitted game continue until 11:59PM, September 14th.
- Apply for the contest by contacting us with your name (or team name) and you will receive your applicant badge.
- The 3 games with the highest ratings on September 15th win prizes.
Requirements:
- Fit in the action genre.
- Provide a link to Make it Play it and the supplied badge in a prominent location.
- Have at least 15 votes on your game by September 14th.
Prizes:
- 1st Place: Adobe Flash CS4 for Mac or PC (worth $700)
- 2nd Place: $100 Amazon.com Gift Certificate
- 3rd Place: 1 Insanely Sarcastic T-Shirt (priceless)
Fine Print:
All games submitted to this contest belong entirely to the applicant (or the applicant's team) regardless of placement, popularity, prizes won, or anything. Make it Play it doesn't claim any ownership of any submitted games whatsoever (but we will probably brag about you if your game rocks).
Changes to the submitted game may be made at any point following the end of the contest. This includes removal of any or all requirements (MakeitPlayit.com banner & link, character names, dialog, etc). Additionally, any game on Make it Play it (submitted or otherwise) may be deleted if requested by the original game creator(s).

Well, it's been a fun ride, but we've had to close our doors officially. We'll leave the games up so you can keep playing if you so desire, but everything else is shut down. It's been fun!
